(Music Therapist)

I am a Board Certified Music Therapist originally from sunny Satellite Beach, FL. I received my bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and a performance certificate in Bassoon Performance from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Upon completion of my bachelor’s degree, I returned to Florida for my music therapy internship at Vitas Healthcare in Palm Beach County, where I provided services for individuals in hospice care and bereavement support to children and families. I have also received specialized training in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery in Music and the Sound Birthing Method for Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth.

Prior to joining the Sing Explore Create team, I provided music therapy and music education services to people in a variety of settings, including but not limited to, mental health care, substance abuse recovery, end-of-life and medical care, children and adults with diverse abilities, and memory care/skilled nursing facilities. In 2019, I founded Songs of Life Music Therapy in South Florida and strove to bring music therapy and education services to the community throughout the pandemic.

As a child, I was drawn to learning new instruments and explored guitar, piano, and choir before falling in love with the bassoon. My passion for learning and sharing new instruments continues today, as I frequently incorporate the use of banjo, ukulele, harmonica, mandolin, and more into my sessions and lessons. After returning to Florida, I also trained as an instructor of yoga and ballroom and Latin dance. My knowledge and enthusiasm for movement and meditation not only influences my practice as a music therapist but is also a huge part of my life outside of work. On the weekends, you can often find me hiking with my dog, traveling, or sitting outside with a good book.

I am thrilled to join the Sing Explore Create family and make meaningful music and connections with the South Shore community.
