Students commit to 1 semester of lessons at a time (fall, winter, spring). There are 11-13 lessons per semester depending on the day your lesson falls. Students may join at any time during the semester, but must commit to the remainder of that semester. Tuition will be prorated based on the student’s start date. View our 2021-2022 Calendar for holidays and center closings. Session dates for the 2021-2022 year are:
FALL: Weeks of 9/13/21-11/29/21
WINTER: Weeks of 12/6/21-3/7/21
SPRING: Weeks of 3/14/21-6/13/21
What ages do you provide lessons for? Our lessons are for ages 5 through adult. You're never too old to start learning an instrument, but you can be too young for some instruments. For most students we recommend waiting until around age 8 before beginning guitar due to typical fine motor development, but every child is different and we are happy to discuss what instrument might be the best fit for your child.
Do I need an instrument? Yes, besides voice students, you will need to have an instrument to practice on and bring to lessons (if guitar or ukulele). We are happy to give you a recommendation on affordable quality instruments upon request.
What music will I play? Our teachers do not teach from one single method book. We get to know each student's learning style and preferred music and put together a curriculum unique to each student we teach. Students will receive a binder that we will keep adding music and resources to. Students will learn music theory through exercises, written instruction, and by playing some of their favorite songs. Playing music you enjoy, as well as music that challenges you is a great way to stay motivated and keep growing as a musician!
Will I get to perform? Students will be invited to participate in our annual showcase, typically occurs during the 2nd or 3rd week of June. If we are unable to provide in-person performance opportunities, we will create a virtual stage for all to share their music! Participation is optional.
Do you offer adapted lessons? For students with disabilities or unique learning needs, please inquire about our adapted lessons program or music therapy services.
