Alyssa DiMaio, MT-BC

(Music Therapist)

I am a Board-Certified Music Therapist and Certified Rhode Island Music Therapist. I received a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Music Therapy with a minor in Psychology from Berklee College of Music. During my music therapy training, I had the honor of serving Hospice and Palliative care patients. I have also had the opportunity to work within a variety of music therapy settings like nursing homes and assisted living facilities, integrated pre-k and kindergarten schools, as well as pediatric oncology and Veterans with PTSD.

When I am not working as a music therapist, I teach music as an instructor and Youth Music Program Coordinator. I have experience teaching music to all ages and abilities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island! As a music instructor and Youth Music Program Coordinator, I have helped to create sensory friendly music education programs for local school systems in Providence RI. Currently I teach piano, voice, guitar, and ukulele and many other instruments as well as adapted music lessons to help make music accessible to all.

Outside of my work in music therapy and teaching, I enjoy playing video games with my friends, cooking new recipes and exploring new restaurants. When the weather is nice, I love to go golfing and spending time outdoors.

I am incredibly excited to be a part of the Sing Explore Create team, and I look forward to bringing the joy of music and the arts to the people we serve.
