Melanie Castiblanco, MT-BC
(Music Therapist)
I am a Board Certified Music Therapist from East Stroudsburg, Pa. I received my bachelor’s degree in music therapy at Marywood University in Scranton, Pa. I then completed my internship at Alternatives for Children and St. Charles Rehabilitation Hospital in Long Island, Ny. My experiences have provided me with the opportunity to work with people of multiple populations across all age ranges and with varying diagnoses. Some of these populations include adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, preschoolers with varying diagnoses, dementia clients and patients of all ages with traumatic brain injuries.
I have been interested in music from a very young age. I have been singing since I was a toddler and joined choir and band in elementary school. Throughout all of my schooling, I have been a part of various ensembles such as competitive marching band, chorale, musicals and symphonic band. Beyond music, I enjoy traveling, movies, nature hikes and reading.
I am so grateful to be able to use music to help others and look forward to working with Sing Explore Create and its wonderful therapists and educators.
