Katherine "KP" Perkoski, MT-BC (she/her)
(Music Therapist)
I am a Board Certified Music Therapist from Plymouth, MA. I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Voice from the University of New Hampshire, and received my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Music Therapy from Lesley University. I have worked with people of all ages in various populations including public schools, summer camps, hospice, older adult residential facilities, unhoused resource centers, churches, and individual music sessions. My music therapy internships focused on students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities, and milieu, educational, and mental health counseling with adolescents in a residential school. I have gained experience with various music therapy interventions as well as therapies such as DBT, CBT, SMART, and trauma-informed care.
I come from a humanistic, person-centered, and empowering lens, and am passionate about client agency, community, accessibility, and resource-oriented music therapy. I have found music therapy and mental health counseling to be a powerful medium of change, validation, and expression and I believe everyone deserves the right to trauma-informed, freeing, and transformative musical experiences. I am excited to be a part of the SEC team!
When I am not at work, you can find me enjoying all things outdoors, playing cozy video games, reading, crocheting, singing, going to concerts, doing wikipedia deep dives, engaging in research, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
