Our services focus on helping clients build confidence, make meaningful social connections, strengthen developmental skills, and gain coping strategies that improve their social emotional wellness.

Music Therapists provide clinical music therapy services, working within 1-2 of our service teams (Early Childhood Services, School-Aged Services, Adult Disability Services, Adult Mental Health and Wellness Services, Older Adult Services).

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the following:

• Provide 18-20 direct client hours per week to clients.
• Provide clinical music therapy services and help expand and deliver our innovative creative arts programs that meet the social-emotional and developmental goals of our clients
• Provide individual and group music therapy sessions to clients in accordance with their treatment plans
• Provide creative arts wellness programs (music and wellness groups with opportunities to include other modalities)
• Utilize Sing Explore Create, LLC’s system to complete intakes, assessments, session notes and service summary reports for music therapy clients.
• Effectively communicate with clients/caregivers regarding treatment plans, sessions, scheduling, etc.
• Complete daily timesheets
• Attend and actively engage in staff meetings and peer/individual supervision
• Assist in program development needs as they arise (primary responsibilities will be planning sessions for new programs)
• Attend open houses and other community events as a representative of Sing Explore Create, LLC (typically 1-2 times per year)
• Perform other duties related to the position and as assigned by supervisor

Services will occur at our center and at schools, day habs/CBDS/vocational, residential and community programs in Southeastern, MA.  Geographic location of each therapist is considered when determining community partner assignments and commute times are kept to a minimum wherever possible.  In many cases, therapists are at a single location for a full or half day.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Board-certified music therapist OR eligible to sit for exam at time of hire
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. 
• Strong music skills (especially voice and guitar)
• Ability to plan and provide quality music therapy treatment and engaging creative arts wellness programs to a variety of clients and populations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Pass a CORI/SORI background check
• Follow American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) standards of practice.
• Maintain board certification by CBMT and comply with continuing education requirements. Some assistance will be given by Sing Explore Create, LLC for this.
